Emily Armenta’s influences are historical and cultural, especially Spanish. She takes inspiration from the concept of ‘duende’ – a complex set of ideas that can be expressed as soul, charisma, enchantment or inspiration, as well as authenticity and a state of heightened emotions. It’s associated with flamenco, and the poetry of Lorca. Her designs are made in 18 carat gold, oxidized silver and precious gemstones.
